Thinking differently about orthodontics

The face is an organ that has two roles: to provide a set of functions, and to shape the subject’s appearance. It is a living organ. Its components can develop, are often mobile and always diverse. Conventional diagnostic methods entail a frozen representation, in order to be measurable, thus ignoring life. The goal of orthodontic treatment is not to correct a structural abnormality, but to enable perfect function and to improve appearance. The mechanical part of the treatment can be improved and simplified by digital tools and replacement of bows and brackets by elastopositioning.
